Hello,
My name is Kim Kirkup.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Georgia, and a National Certified Counselor, (NCC)
with a Masters in Professional Counseling.I am also authorised and registed with the State of Georgia to provide court-ordered
drug and alcohol evaluations. I specialize in psychotherapy with children, adolescents, and families. I also provide marriage counseling
and life coaching.
I was born in England, and have lived in Venice; London; Bermuda; Long Island; and
for more than fifteen years in Alpharetta. I have been married for 28 years, and have 3 children between the ages of 25 and
12.
Before entering
private practice in 2006, I had extensive experience in both in-patient and not-for-profit mental health settings in the
Atlanta area.

A licensing qualification is granted to those who have a graduate academic degree, clinical work experience and have passed
a state-certified licensing examination.
N.C.C. The Nationally Certified Counselor is the certification issued by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC),
an independent organization that grew out of the American Counseling Association (ACA). The NBCC is an independent certification
body. NBCC and ACA work together to further the profession of counseling. The ACA concentrates on membership association activities
such as conferences, professional development, publications and government relations. The NBCC focuses on promoting quality
counseling through certification. NBCC's flagship credential is the National Certified Counselor (NCC).
DUI Program - Clinical Evaluator Any person convicted
of a DUI in Georgia, or a licensed Georgia driver who gets a DUI in another State must successfully complete a Department
of Drivers Services (DDS) approved DUI Alcohol or Drug Use Risk Reduction Program and undergo a Clinical Evaluation and, if
recommended, complete a Substance Abuse Treatment Program. The Clinical Evaluation is an
assessment conducted by a DBHDD approved licensed or certified professional who is certified in the field of addiction. You
must select a Clinical Evaluator from the DBHDD approved list.
